Founded in 2019, Worrel's Haven is a women-only sober living home in Shawnee that proudly serves all of Oklahoma. Currently, we operate a 7-bed facility where women with substance abuse issues can live in safety and stability while they seek treatment and work on getting back on their feet.
Our stated Mission is building foundations for lasting sobriety through structure and community connection. To do this, we provide a structured living environment where residents can heal and progress in recovery. Because we believe in structured support, lasting change and connected lives. We also help residents in need find local resources within the community:
Recovery from Substance Use Disorder is hard enough under the best of circumstances. It is even more difficult in potentially-harmful environments disrupted by peer/partner drinking and drug use, domestic violence, economic hardship, and a general lack of support.
For example:
At Worrel's Haven, we address those issues by creating a safe and substance-free home environment where women can focus on their progress in recovery. Free of unnecessary drama and distraction, they are free to seek out those services and participate in those programs that allow them to heal - physically, mentally, and spiritually.
While Worrel's Haven is not an addiction treatment center, we do support your journey by connecting you with the local providers and programs that help you move forward in recovery.
Best of all, we give you the structure and personal accountability that you often lacked during active addiction. This allows you to achieve stability, improved self-confidence, and greater independence. As you progress in recovery, you earn more privileges.
You will not be alone. In addition to your housemates, who are also your peers in recovery, you will also have a female Mentor who will help you find your way forward. The ultimate goal is to have you once again ready to stand on your own, sober, strong, and successful.
Rachael Cole is the founder and Executive Director for Worrel’s Haven. This mission is personal to her. In long-term recovery herself, she is dedicated to building a home like she once needed. She aims to continue to provide a home where women can grow and find sobriety. Outside of her work, Rachael is a proud mom raising a daughter and son, striving to be the best example she can be for them in sobriety.
